With the participation of Monika Boreikaitė (oboe)

Programme: Nino Rota, Joseph Jongen, Paul Patterson, Ekaterina Walter-Kühne, Liucilė U. Vilimaitė

The way the sound of the harp affects human mind and body has been known since the time of ancient Egypt. But how does this ritual instrument sound in modern times? How does it affect our imagination?

To get transported into the fantasy world of harp sonorities you should attend a concert by Liucilė Uršulė Vilimaitė, a prize-winner of numerous national and international competitions, currently studying at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague. She has prepared a solo programme that encompasses a broad range of styles and moods from the pensive strains of late Romanticism to the defiant chords of modern music. Besides the masterpieces by the famous composers of harp music, it will also feature a specially written work by the young harpist herself. Young and talented oboist Monika Boreikaitė will accompany her trip to this fantasy world with the mellifluous sounds of the oboe.
