On the last days of the year the audiences in Klaipėda will have yet another occasion to relish the virtuoso appearance of violinist Sergej Krylov and the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra (LCO) under his artistic leadership. Krylov frequently appears in concerts as a soloist with the world’s leading orchestras and ensembles, he is also an acclaimed chamber musician and recitalist. His previous collaborations include many repeat performances with the late cellist and conductor Mstislav Rostropovich who had highly regarded Krylov as one of the world’s five greatest violinists.
Appointed Artistic Director of the LCO several years ago, Krylov declared: “I want from the orchestra the same things I attempt to achieve myself, that is, the technical quality of instrumental performance and constant exploration of interpretive possibilities, nurtured by the lifelong pursuit of knowledge. I firmly believe we can achieve that because this orchestra deserves to be among the top ten European chamber orchestras.”
The soloist’s dazzling virtuosity on a par with the smooth sound of the orchestra will present the audience with many wonderful and memorable moments.
