Director of the Choir
Alfonsas Vildžiūnas (born in 1955) graduated from the choir conducting class of prof. Povilas Gylys in Lithuanian Music Academy in 1979. In 1985 he finished the internship in the Moscow Gnesin Music Pedagogical Institute. He had a special traineeship in Moscow Chamber Choir with prof. V. Minin and in J. S. Bach Academy in Germany.
In 1979 – 1989 A. Vildžiūnas worked in the Department of Choir Conducting in Klaipėda Faculty of Lithuanian Music Academy. In 1988 – 1989 he was the Dean of the Culture Faculty. During the period of 1989 – 1993 he was the Director and chief conductor of Lithuanian Radio Chamber Choir.
In 2002 he was the artistic Director of the Northern and Baltic states Choir festival in Klaipėda and the artistic Director of the Song Day of the World Lithuanian Song Festival.
