The beginning of the Festival together with the famous Terem quartet
Terem quartet, founded seventeen years ago, often represents the culture of Saint Peterburg and Russia all over the world. The Russian media call the ensemble “the business card of Saint Petersburg” by this comparing it to the Hermitage, Theatre Maria, and Russian Museum.

Terem quartet - a very unusual and unique phenomenon of modern music world. Four musicians of the ensemble playing the Russian folk instruments suggestively crossing the genre barriers meet success in the most famous philharmonic halls of the world, and jazz, and the world music festivals.

The beloved pianist of the audience is coming back to Klaipėda
Aleksander Palei (USA) - the pianist – virtuoso, very highly evaluated by the Lithuanian audience, called the „possessed pianist“ will perform a solo program at the festival that greatly blends into the festive period. The following pieces of the golden fund from the grand piano repertoire will be performed: Ludwig van Beethoven “Moonlight Sonata“, Ferenz Liszt “Dante Sonata“, and Robert Schumann “Carnival“.

It is such a joy and pleasure that the soloist residing in New York who constantly tours in the various countries of the world comes to Lithuania every year and will perform in Klaipėda again.

The source of the spiritual music during the last week of the Advent
The singer Asta Krikščiūnaitė proposed a project “Under the Angel’s Wing…” for the festival. There are the traditional Christmas songs of the nations of the world, songs by foreign and Lithuanian authors, and instrumental pieces. The most noble, honorable, and unbelievable things happen under the Angel’s wing while waiting for the Christmas miracle…

The collectives of Klaipėda Concert Hall – choir ”Aukuras” and Klaipėda chamber orchestra continue on the beautiful traditions of mutual music playing. Together with the soloists and conductor Robertas Šervenikas they have prepared the romantic program “Let’s Wish Peace…”

On the Christmas Day – the greatest news by the bells!
Christmas is very special in Klaipėda this year. For the first time the brand new Klaipėda Carillon bells will sound; they were made in one of the Dutch factories. The bell ringers from Klaipėda and Kaunas - Kęstutis Kačinskas, Stasys Žilevičius, Giedrius Kuprevičius, and Julius Vilnonis will be the first ones to play the new instrument. Its sounds will spread around the celebrating city announcing the joyful Christmas news.

Salve jazz!
Klaipėda residents – jazz lovers will not be forgotten by the Festival “Salve Musica“. During the concert “Improvisations” dedicated to them, the jazz masters – the saxophone player Petras Vyšniauskas and the piano player Egidijus Buožis will give in to the spontaneous stream of thoughts and momentous vision.

The meetings of violin virtuosos on Klaipėda stage
The New Years program has been also prepared by the orchestra “Camerata Klaipėda“, led by Vilhelmas Čepinskis. This time the program is called “Meetings of Violin Virtuosos”. We will hear two most prominent violin players playing together – the Lithuanian V. Čepinskis and the Russian Oleg Krysa, who is currently residing in USA. Their duet performance is suggesting a real intrigue and great artistic impressions.

The tricky last evening of the year
In the playful program “Musical tricks or the New Years remix” there will sound remakes of the pieces by various composers, also arrangements, unexpected and witty comparisons of different style music pieces, and improvisations. The classics and jazz pieces, tango and waltz, song and dance blend in the festive sounds. The jesters promise a good mood and surprises.
