As in every year, the festival will start with the “Young Artists Parade”. On March 4th the youngest participants of the festival, all from educational institutions of Klaipeda, will perform.

For the first time an international conference will be held on conference „Educational Aspects of the Spread of Culture and Art Projects“. The conference is organised by Klaipėda Concert Hall and Klaipėda College.

Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra will perform a programme with soloists born in Klaipeda, although at present they are pupils and students at the National M.K.Čiurlionis School of Art and Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in Vilnius. The concert will be conducted by Robertas Šervenikas (March 6th ).

The Educational Programme “We Have Found the Treble Clef” will be aimed at a younger audience – preschool and primary school pupils (March 7th.).

One of the main highlights of the festival will be on the March 8th when pieces by young and professional composers of Klaipeda will be played. There will be two premieres: a light-hearted cantata “The Chants of the Bridge” (“Tilto giesmės”) by Vladimiras Konstantinovas will be performed by the united forces of the participants of the festival and a composition by Laima Jedenkutė “Fans of the Flying Fish” (“Skraiduolių vėduoklės”) will be played by the students of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.

The festival will also premiere new compositions by young musicians of S. Šimkus Conservatoire: Lukrecija Petkutė, Martyna Rudelytė, Edita Vitkutė and Osvaldas Bertašius.

Two concerts of the festival come under the title “We return…” (“Sugrįžtame”…). During these citizens of Klaipėda who study in Sweden, Denmark, Portugal will play together with their international class mates.

As is traditional, the final concert is dedicated to the Re-establishment of the Independence of Lithuania. The oratorio of B. Kutavičius “The Last Pagan Rites” will be performed by the choir of E. Balsys Gymnasium of Art and a cheerful programme “From Minuet to Ragtime” by the string orchestra of the same gymnasium.

The festival “The Sounding Wave” is a growing tradition and the audiences and number of performing artists increases every year. It is well known both in Lithuania and abroad.
