“Fairies, Fireworks and Beethoven’s Farewell…” is the title of the recital by pianist Gabrielius Alekna. The programme, prepared especially for Klaipėda by this 2nd prize winner of the International Beethoven Piano Competition 2005 in Vienna and the Doctor of Arts from the famous Juilliard School in New York, includes works by Claude Debussy, Béla Bartók and, of course, Ludwig van Beethoven. “A highly gifted pianist ad musician”, noted Daniel Barenboim, one of the most famous performers of today, about his young colleague.
