The Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra, under the artistic leadership of Mindaugas Bačkus, is inviting once more to join it on an extraordinary tour for curious minds. The orchestra musicians will ‘cut’ the orchestra to pieces and then try to ‘assemble’ it again, just like a jigsaw puzzle. Gone with the music to the not-really-musical spaces in the building, they will be playing solo and in ensembles, and creating unexpected real-time performances in various styles.
“Some of these spaces have never been used for concerts. The audience has never stepped into these lots. And what is the most exciting thing about it is that we have no idea what will happen…” Bačkus beguiles. “What is most fascinating about the idea of jigsaw puzzle,” he continues, “is that the whole is made up of very small and unique pieces. In the orchestra every such piece is represented by an individual musician. The music is born out of their communication and creative collaboration.”
Thus these little pieces will be put together to assemble a jigsaw puzzle of the orchestra, using various styles, colours and unexpected elements. Every member of the orchestra will have a designated space and time to reveal his or her talents. Meanwhile the listeners will enjoy the opportunity to experience the power of music just in few steps from the performers.
This programme is back by public demand, in which the Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra will once again captivate its audience by demonstrating masterful and vibrant performances, as well as flair for unexpected experiments. You must hear and see it for yourselves!
