A representative of the Italian culture, violinist Domenico Nordio, returns to Lithuania to demonstrate his outstanding proficiency and beguiling Southern temperament in front of the audience at the Klaipėda Concert Hall, together with his stage partners – members of the Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra.
Born in the vicinity of Venice, Nordio was a child prodigy, having started his concert career at a very young age. Now appearing at the world’s most prestigious concert halls with major orchestras and leading conductors, he won Grand Prix of the 1988 “Eurovision” competition for young performers, which catapulted him to international stardom. He is signed to the Sony Music Group, which releases all of his recordings.
Nordio is a keen performer of contemporary music; hence he is dedicatee of quite a few new pieces by Italian composers. He is often seen not only perform but also conduct his programmes.
Two years ago Nordio treated the Klaipėda Music Spring Festival audience to the “Italian Desserts,” while this time he offers a more sophisticated and varied selection of music, which includes Carl Nielsen, Felix Mendelssohn, Giuseppe Verdi, and Mieczysław Weinberg. We are certain that this masterfully wrought musical treat will suit your taste.
