What is time? Scientists try to define the idea of time using formulas and applying the laws of physics. Philosophers argue over its nature and impact on the human existence. Although time is a necessary, indispensable and inescapable, condition to all life on Earth and beyond, we do not often delve deep into its essence.

The programme “Time Everlasting” will show the conceptual and vocal forces of Klaipėda Choir Aukuras. The choral group will perform under the artistic leadership of Alfonsas Vildžiūnas. Aukuras will celebrate its 30th anniversary in three years, while it has been already heard perform in almost every continent.

Was time here for eternity or did it have a beginning? Will time be here for eternity or will it end at some point?.. In the company Aukuras choir, we will have a chance to leaf through the pages of scores written by contemporary composers living around the Baltic Sea, to contemplate the beauty of multi-voice choral settings, meaningful texts, and masterful performances. We hope that the time spent while listening to these choirs will be time well spent and worthy of your attention on the last weekend of September.
