How to explain our children what a symphony orchestra is and what music it performs? How can we help them understand what sections it comprises and why do they need a conductor to play together and coordinate so many different parts? No doubt, the best way to do it is to make fun out of it!

This programme happens to be the 24th episode in the “Orchestra of Playful Music” series – perhaps the most popular project for the whole family ever presented by the Klaipėda Concert Hall. Running for eleventh year in a row, this project will invite the young audiences accompanied by their parents to its most recent programme, featuring the symphony orchestra that consists of the members of the Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra and the small symphony orchestra of the Stasys Šimkus Conservatory. It will present an amazing opportunity to get to know the symphony orchestra – not only for the young audiences but also for the conservatory pupils who will find themselves amidst the large symphony orchestra and receive guidance from the professional orchestra musicians. The best of young talent from the Šimkus Conservatory and Eduardas Balsys Gymnasium of Arts will have the honour and privilege to appear as soloists with this joint symphony orchestra conducted by Egidijus Miknius. The young concert presenters Gediminas Povilavičius and Dovilė Kirdaitė will help create the playful mood for this project.
