Closing Concert of the Improvisation Workshop

After two days of creative exploration and experimentation, the Free Improvisation Workshop of the Permainų Muzika Festival will culminate in a closing concert. In this performance, students from the Eduardas Balsys Arts Gymnasium and the Stasys Šimkus Conservatory, together with workshop mentors — pianist Paula Bagotyriūtė, bassist Deividas Skridaila, and saxophonist Kornelijus Pukinskis — will present the results of their creative process, developed through interpreting György Kurtág’s cycle Játékok and exploring new possibilities of instrumental sound.

This is not a traditional academic concert, but a living creative process in which listening, dialogue, and spontaneously emerging musical decisions become central. Each performance will be unique, as the music is created in the moment — through interaction with one another and with the space itself.
