It’s Freezing, It’s Freezing

The boundary between movement and sound has been explored for many years by Šeiko Dance Theatre, whose work transforms the human body into a unique instrument — one that tells stories, reveals emotional states, and seeks a living connection with the audience.

Led by choreographer Agnija Šeiko, the company is known for its distinctive contemporary dance language and its dialogue between different art forms. This time, it joins forces with the Klaipėda Choir Aukuras to offer a new perspective on the tradition of Lithuanian choral music. The programme features works by Vytautas Miškinis, Vaclovas Augustinas, Rytis Mažulis, Gediminas Venislovas, and other Lithuanian composers, revealing diverse worlds of the human voice.

From the beauty of choral tradition, harmonic richness, and spiritual resonance to contemporary expression, rhythm, and new explorations of sound, the programme opens up a wide spectrum of vocal possibilities. In this encounter, dance becomes not an illustration of music, but its equal partner — extending what sound alone can no longer express.

The Aukuras Choir, with more than three decades of artistic history, and one of Lithuania’s most prominent contemporary dance companies create an experience in which, through the dialogue between voice and movement, Lithuanian choral music is revealed not only as a listening experience but also as a living choreographic narrative.
