Lithuanian Armed Forces Orchestra greets Klaipėda!

This evening’s program is shaped by works from different eras, selected to mark significant anniversary milestones of renowned composers and their contributions to the tradition of orchestral music. The concert pays tribute to Giuseppe Verdi (125th anniversary of his death), Manuel de Falla (150th anniversary of his birth), Ottorino Respighi (90th anniversary of his death), Vytautas Klova (100th anniversary of his birth), Malcolm Arnold (20 years since his death), and Philip Sparke (75th birthday).

Alongside these composers, the works performed will reveal the stylistic diversity of the wind orchestra and the possibilities of contemporary performance practice. Led by Bandmaster Major Egidijus Ališauskas, the Lithuanian Armed Forces Orchestra will present a broad musical panorama that brings together operatic, symphonic, national, and modern musical forms, thus highlighting the creative horizons of composers who significantly shaped the orchestral repertoire of the 20th and 21st centuries.
