The Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra, together with guest conductor Sesto Quatrini from Italy, presents a program that juxtaposes two composers of different eras and aesthetics. Gustav Mahler’s music is marked by philosophical introspection, psychological depth, and the precision of vocal–orchestral dramaturgy.
Osvaldo Golijov’s work represents the expression of contemporary global culture, where principles of Western academic music intertwine with liturgical and folk elements, Latin American rhythms, and modern harmonic structures. The voice of soloist Lina Dambrauskaitė becomes the connecting layer between these two compositional paradigms—Mahler’s emotional expressiveness and Golijov’s multilayered cultural references.
The program invites listeners to explore the identities of 20th- and 21st-century music, their dialogue, and their stylistic contrasts.
