What happens when numbers start to sing, and music takes on the task of solving mathematical equations? The Lithuanian Symphonic Wind Orchestra invites children and their parents to a fun, adventure-filled musical performance “Sounding Numbers,” where two seemingly very different sciences – music and mathematics – come together.
Led by the witty Madam Nulštein (actress Vitalija Mockevičiūtė), the lesson turns into a lively musical experiment: the orchestra’s sounds become formulas, rhythms transform into actions, and melodic phrases provide answers to the most unexpected questions. Can numbers really dance? What would happen if, one day, they simply… disappeared?
And is it always possible to count everything? The performance was created by the creative team of dramaturge Daiva Čepauskaitė, director Birutė Mar, and composer Antanas Kučinskas, in collaboration with conductor–arranger Tadas Šileika, while the scenography and visual world were designed by artist Artūras Šimonis.
