The Rhythm of Tango

On stage – accordion virtuoso Laimonas Salijus and violinist Dalia Simaška, promising not only masterful performance but also an inspiring emotional experience. But tango – and more – will not only be heard, it will truly come alive on stage: the program will be enriched by an authentic live dance performance by professional tango dancers Brigita and Carlos Rodriguez.

Their appearances will not only enhance the musical atmosphere but also offer the audience a unique opportunity to experience tango as it was born – in the dance halls of Buenos Aires. The evening’s program weaves together music of diverse styles and moods – from the subtle and French-refined romanticism of César Franck, to the playful habanera by Lithuanian orchestration master Eduardas Balsys, to rarely performed works by contemporary composers such as Gediminas Gelgotas, Mikołaj Majkusiak, and Ole Edvard Antonsen.

All of this culminates in the music of legendary tango master Ástor Piazzolla, pulsing with dynamic energy, passion, nostalgia, and southern elegance.
