The Klaipėda Carillon Festival that was launched in 2014 offers a unique format to celebrate carillon music in the Baltic region. It invites the citizens and visitors of the harbour city to observe the summer solstice with four concerts, which all take place during the longest summer day, on the 24th June. The programme frequently includes works written especially for this festival. The carillon is heard perform solo and in combination with other instruments and larger ensembles. The festive toll of bells hovers high above the city, creating the unique soundscape and an exceptional appeal of Klaipėda.
