A multi-national piano duo from Vienna, the Xylos Duo, consisting of Lithuanian-born violinist Ieva Pranskutė and Croatian-born cellist Mislav Brajković, offers the audience to accompany them on their musical journey around the world. Young, dynamic and charismatic musicians met as students at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Ieva and Mislav have been performing chamber music together for seven years and their artistic accomplishments have been acknowledged with several prizes. The duo has already appeared at major venues in Vienna, including Musikverein, Konzerthaus, ORF RadioKulturhaus, and the Albertina Museum.

In its forthcoming programme, the Xylos Duo offers not only loads of positive impressions while listening to the musical works from various historical periods and cultures. It also offers to follow their path to professionalism. The duo’s journey starts in the place where it was formed – in Vienna, an important music centre where Mozart spent his final decade. He composed two wonderful duets for violin and viola, which the Xylos Duo has arranged for violin and cello. The programme also features excerpts from the opera Der Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute) arranged for violin and cello.

Later on the duo will entertain the audience with the performance of duets by violinist, composer and comic Alexey Igudesman. It is a known fact that travel can sometimes take an unexpected course, so get ready for the unexpected!
