The Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra, led by Mindaugas Bačkus, has prepared a program in which the theme of the seasons is interpreted through the diverse aesthetics and compositional principles of different authors.
Here, the distinctiveness of contemporary Lithuanian music, the neoclassical post-minimalist tradition, and the cyclical logic of the Baroque era meet. The works of different composers are presented as separate yet mutually communicating perspectives: from the contemporary textures and coloristic approaches explored by today’s Lithuanian composers to a modern view of the classical repertoire grounded in ideas of reinterpretation and structural re-examination.
Within this context, the musical logic of the Baroque seasonal cycle becomes a point of departure for a dialogue in which different periods, styles, and creative mindsets converge. The program reveals how the theme of the seasons can be transformed, deconstructed, or returned to its original form depending on the composer’s aesthetic approach.
