The Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra and guests from Spain – conductor José Luis López-Antón and soprano Ruth Terán – invite you to an evening that reveals the vibrant colors of Spain’s musical traditions. The concert will feature Manuel de Falla’s suite El corregidor y la molinera – the original version of the famous ballet The Three-Cornered Hat.
This score, full of Andalusian rhythms, the energy of folk dances, and subtle orchestral colors, is considered one of the brightest examples of Spanish symphonic language. The program also marks the 150th anniversary of M. de Falla’s birth. The evening will likewise include romanzas from zarzuelas – a genre regarded as the true heritage of Spain’s lyric stage. Soprano Ruth Terán’s voice will bring to life the romantic, dramatic, and passionate characters of these romanzas, while the orchestra and conductor will infuse them with the sparkling character of Spanish music.
The event may be photographed and filmed. Photos and videos will be used on the Klaipėda Concert Hall’s social media accounts and other communication platforms.
