The French string quintet “Bilitis”, together with accordion virtuoso Théo Ould, presents a program where the energy of South American tango meets the tradition of European classical music. At the heart of the concert is the music of Ástor Piazzolla, transforming traditional tango into a modern, dramatic, and orchestrally rich world.
Famous works such as “Libertango”, “Oblivion”, excerpts from “The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires”, as well as “Suite del Ángel” and other pieces will be performed, capturing the aesthetics of Buenos Aires nights, light, and movement. The program also features a Baroque concerto for two violins by Antonio Vivaldi and arrangements of the slow movement from Antonín Dvořák’s Ninth Symphony. Reimagined with contemporary arrangements, these works introduce striking contrasts and open up an unexpected dialogue between musical eras.
