The Polish Cello Quartet brings a new sonic dimension to the music of Fryderyk Chopin. Piano masterpieces will gain a deeper resonance and unveil the delicate world of Polish Romanticism. The concert promises a synergy of elegance and refined virtuosity which will enchant every listener.

Formed in 2011, the Polish Cello Quartet consists of cellists Tomasz Daroch, Wojciech Fudala, Krzysztof Karpeta and Adam Krzeszowiec, graduates of prestigious music academies in Poland and abroad, including Cologne, Mannheim and Brussels. They studied under renowned professors such as Paweł Głombik, Stanisław Firlej, Frans Helmerson, Gary Hoffman, Jelena Očić and others. Each member is a laureate of cello and chamber music competitions and serves as a faculty member at leading Polish music institutions.

The quartet regularly participates in international music festivals such as Wratislavia Cantans, Internationaal Kamermuziekfestival Schiermonnikoog, Q’arto Mondi and Jazztopad. They collaborate with leading classical and jazz musicians and have worked with American cellist Gary Hoffman, Polish contralto Jadwiga Rappé, Polish cellist Dominik Połoński, American jazz saxophonist Tony Malaby and trumpeter Nate Wooley. In 2019, the quartet received Poland’s prestigious Fryderyk Award for their Chandos label album featuring works by Grażyna Bacewicz.

In Klaipėda, the Polish Cello Quartet will perform a programme of Chopin’s most beloved piano compositions, arranged for a cello quartet by Sabina Meck, Leszek Kołodziejski and Piotr Moss.
