The grand finale of the 4th International Klaipėda Cello Festival promises a breathtaking fusion of classical mastery and artistic freedom. Four exceptional soloists will join forces with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra to deliver a dazzling celebration of sound and colour. This is a finale that must be experienced live!

Concluding the rich programme of the festival, the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra will perform under the baton of conductor Robertas Šervenikas, a winner of the Lithuanian National Prize for Culture and Arts. Known for his broad musical scope, Šervenikas masterfully navigates both well-known classical works and lesser-explored compositions from the 20th and 21st centuries.

The audience will be treated to Simi, a piece for cello and orchestra by Giya Kancheli, a renowned Georgian composer whose music has been celebrated worldwide. Once performed by Mstislav Rostropovich, the piece will be played by Estonian cello virtuoso Marcel Johannes Kits. The programme also includes Spasimo, an evocative work by Italian cellist and composer Giovanni Sollima. It will be performed by Ivan Karizna, a laureate of prestigious competitions, including the Queen Elisabeth Cello Competition in Brussels.

A special highlight of the concert will be a Jazz Cello Concerto by Swedish composer Svante Henryson. It will be performed by the composer himself: an accomplished musician whose artistry bridges jazz and classical traditions. The programme will conclude with Romanian cello virtuoso Răzvan Suma, a soloist with Europe’s leading orchestras, who will perform Hungarian Rhapsody by David Popper, a Bohemian cellist and composer from the late 19th century.
