The Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra and its artistic director, violinist Sergej Krylov, present a program where two very different “Seasons” worlds meet – the Baroque vision of Vivaldi and Piazzolla’s contemporary urban temperament. The concert will feature Piazzolla’s cycle “The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires,” in which traditional tango rhythms merge with jazz energy, melancholy, and the pulse of the nocturnal metropolis. In this work, Piazzolla creates unique seasons – not of nature, but of human emotions, city lights, and the everyday life of Buenos Aires.
In contrast and dialogue with this music are Antonio Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” – Baroque depictions of nature rendered with pictorial precision, sparkling with virtuosic violin passages and the lively energy of the orchestra. The program is complemented by Fausto Latėnas’ “Bolero,” where Lithuanian melodic elements subtly meet rhythmic tension and the hypnotic drive of dance.
