The unique Armenian ensemble The Naghash Ensemble is coming to Klaipėda with their premiere program Songs of Wisdom, inviting listeners to hear and immerse themselves in the sounds of ancient Armenia through new musical language. This is a fusion of sacred poetry and contemporary music, composed by Armenian-American composer John Hodian based on the texts of 13th-century poet Kostandin Erzinkatsi.
The ensemble’s music weaves together the spirit of Armenian folklore, the pulse of modern classical music, the energy of jazz, and postminimalist structures. The group consists of exceptional performers from both the classical and traditional Armenian music worlds. The longing sound of the duduk, the rhythms of dhol drums, and the whispers of oud strings blend here with expressive vocals and rich piano harmonies.
