Brass Quintet and Tuba

The season-closing concert will feature the long-standing Klaipėda Brass Quintet, joined this time by the young tubist Eglė Liutkauskaitė. This program combines the quintet’s accumulated experience with the soloist’s professionalism, presenting music in various styles arranged for a wind ensemble.

At the center of the evening is the tuba — a rarely heard but highly expressive solo instrument. Eglė Liutkauskaitė is an active performer and participant in diverse projects. She has collaborated with ensembles such as the Residentie Orkest, Epica, and the North Netherlands Symphony Orchestra, and has performed at contemporary music festivals.

The concert will weave together the quintet’s ensemble versions of pieces with specially prepared solo parts, allowing the tuba’s timbre to be heard in a broader musical context. This evening not only marks the close of the season but also symbolically highlights the diversity, interpretive quality, and ongoing evolution of wind music.
