Kitten and Rooster

The musical shadow theatre performance “Kitten and Rooster” invites young audiences and their families into a cheerful fairy-tale world, where friendship, wisdom, and kindness triumph over trickery. Characters from Lithuanian folk tales come to life on stage through the magic of shadows, colorful projections, and live music.

The compositions of Teisutis Makačinas create a playful and expressive soundtrack, blending rhythm, humor, and the drama of the story. The Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra subtly brings the fairy-tale moods to life—from the joyful games of the Kitten and the Rooster to moments full of tension. Meanwhile, director and designer Gintarė Radvilavičiūtė crafts a visually rich shadow world, allowing children to experience the magic of theatre up close: living images, unexpected characters, and a dialogue between light and music.
