The Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Marius Rinkevičius, presents a concert featuring two rising international violin stars. Japanese violinist Yuki Hirano is a laureate of numerous prestigious competitions, having won first place at the 2024 Vienna Classic Violin Competition, as well as awards in Japan and other European countries. Representing Lithuania is violinist Rokas Diržys, a student of the M. K. Čiurlionis School and a scholarship holder of the M. Rostropovich Foundation, winner of 1st Prize at the 12th B. Dvarionas International Competition (2024) and many other national and international awards.
The core of the concert features works by Antonín Dvořák and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart for violin and orchestra, representing the styles of late Classicism and Romanticism and highlighting their developmental differences. The program is complemented by a composition for violin and orchestra by Georges Bizet/Franz Waxman, based on themes from Bizet’s opera; this piece emphasizes the virtuosic role of the soloist and features modernized orchestration.
