J. S. Bach, M. K. Čiurlionis, P. Ben–Haim, A. Bruckner
The programme initiated by conductor Vilmantas Kaliūnas focuses on masterpieces of German classical music, alongside Lithuanian classical works – M. K. Čiurlionis’ Preludes, in celebration of the composer’s 150th birth anniversary, and the “Three Songs Without Words” by 20th-century Israeli composer Paul Ben-Haim.
The centerpiece of the programme is Anton Bruckner’s only large-scale chamber work, the String Quintet in F major (it will be performed in its version for chamber orchestra), a piece that requires exceptional artistic depth and extraordinary mastery. Joined by guest violin virtuoso from Germany, Liv Migdal, the orchestra will perform the magnificent J. S. Bach Violin Concerto in A minor.
*The ticket price includes a 1.40 EUR service fee from the Kakava.lt system. This fee is not subject to any discounts.
