For this chamber music evening, performers have come together from various corners of the world—from Lithuania, Belgium, and Germany in Europe to the distant Land of the Rising Sun, Japan.
At the heart of the program are two masterpieces from the chamber music golden repertoire: the early String Quartet Sonata by Gioachino Rossini (which the composer wrote at the tender age of twelve!) and one of the most famous Romantic-era chamber works—the beloved “Trout Quintet” by Franz Schubert, renowned for its charming melody and the intricate variations featured in its fourth movement.
Additionally, Schubert masterfully incorporated the richly toned string instrument—the double bass—into this quintet, giving it a part that stands equal to the other ensemble members.
