An Homage to Robert Schumann

The Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra, at the initiative of its Artistic Director, Mindaugas Bačkus, will celebrate the 213^rd birthday of composer Robert Schumann (8 June 1810) with a concert of his works. “I decided to invite the French cellist Florian Pons, who won the Orchestra's Choice Award at the 2nd International Klaipėda Cello Competition in 2019. He will perform the solo part in Schumann’s enigmatic Concerto for Cello and Orchestra,” Bačkus revealed.

The second soloist of the concert is the charismatic pianist Guoda Gedvilaitė, an active promoter of Schumann and his wife Clara Schumann in Germany and Lithuania. She will play solo in Schumann’s only Concerto for Piano and Orchestra.
